Charles,

Close figures but not totally correct on the T-2's 1971 total Mfg. was 250,802 1972 total Mfg. was 259,101 Yep, and it did drop off from there but not as bad as 79 when VW only made a grand total of 85,632 T-2's That is still one hell of a lot of busses, and I know that they probably never even came close to any of these figures with the Vanagon, and the Eurovan, combined! And they are still reaping the rewards for these T-2's in limited parts sales.(and this is limited only because of the NLA factor)

Forget about the planned obsolesence BS, build a quality product that will last, sell the hell out of them , and keep selling the parts, for 20 or 30 years!

The price mark-up on parts is huge compared to the initial profit to the dealer on the vehicle, and spread out over a longer period of time.
