Subject: redline mtl vs. mt-90
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

according to the syncro.org site, redline recommends mt-90 for high-temperature operation in the transaxle. i will soon be changing out my tranny oil, and volkscafe stocks the mtl only. can anyone who operates a syncro in a high-temperature environment (i.e., the desert southwest, the intermountain west, the gobi desert), or anyone else, tell me if the mtl is going to be enough for a hot, long trip this summer? is that difference between 75w80 and 75w90 all that much?

note that "normally" our van is driven in cooler, rather than particularly hot, temperatures.

thanks. bill '87 syncro westfalia http://www.scruznet.com/~kasper/pics/westy/
