Subject: 86 Syncro question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I've been looking for a poptop Vanagon (multivan) for some time and just found a 86 Syncro with poptop for sale. Haven't seen it yet so don't have a lot of specifics, however, it is a full-time 4wd version and at the upper edge of my price range. I've had several Vanagons in the past, but never a syncro. I do like to camp off the beaten path whenever possible so this model intrigues me. Is full-time 4wd more/less desireable and more/less prone to mechanical problems than one with selectable 4wd? Also, what kind of economy can I expect with a syncro (still has the original engine with approx 125K miles.) TIA Ken H. 89 Wolfsburg (no poptop)
