Snake oil. The additive companies are in it to make money, and don't care if you don't get any benefit or even ruin your engine. And STAY COMPLETELY CLEAR of motor Up or any related product; these are CHLORINE-based high=pressure lubricants designed for regularly-replaced industrial equipment and are NOT suitable for cars (think... chlorine is the second-most reactive {read: corrosive} element known). Would you put bleach in your sump?
