My VDO oil temp sending unit had a 10x1mm thread pitch and got the drain plug adapter from Bus Boys, but they claimed that was the last one in existence. I wonder if there isn't a couple other temp senders with different thread sizes around for the VDO gauge. I walsn't crazy about using the bottom of the oil drain area as the sender stuck down a little and exposed both the wire and the sender to road debris damage. If you saw how little torque from a 1/4" ratchet it took to snap the brass head off of the sender(while running the adapter into the block initially), you'd find another location also.
