Subject: Re: gas leak while filling
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi Volks,

I'm several day behind on my digests, but have been following the dripping gas while filling thread. I filled this afternoon and noticed a steady dripping and wet spot below the fuel tank after I finished. I considered the risk of fire, but decided standing and watching it drip wasn't helping.

So, I drove to a nearby destination and checked underneath. No dripping. I then drove home--no dripping. Hasn't dripped since I left the station. It seems to drip only while filling although it didn't stop immediately when I stopped the pump.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? The post that seemed to hit closest to my situation suggested turning the wheel all the way left to check the filler and vent lines. I'll do that tomorrow. Anyone think of any other possibilities? I guess I'll drop the tank if the preliminary check is in order. Please p-mail any suggestions.

TIA,

Fred 89 Westy
