Time to be rational.  I have to trade or sell my '87 Syncro Weekender.  I've
had it for about a year and a half, and I love it but I don't have the time
or space to do my own repairs.  Tried three local shops, all of which ended
up doing poor work. With a dissertation to write and a marriage coming up I
really have to simplify things. The van is blue, with the cute little
tire-well flanges that came only on the '87 (I believe).  It has @143k
miles, and the major or costly repairs I've done or had done include: both
front stabilizer links, alternator, water pump, rotor/plugs/ig wires,
transmission rebuild, brake master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders, all
new brake lines.  It has rust around some of the windows (part. windshield),
bottoms of front doors, underneath.  Engine is strong, clutch feels great.
Price for a sale will vary depending on if I have time to make some other
repairs, but will be between  $5,000 and $6,000. I would trade for a '90 or
'91 Weekender GL.  I really hope to trade, but I'll sell it if I must.
UUUgggghhhh I hate doing this.
