Yes - I replaced the original Continentals with Vredesteins in 1986. The Continentals were very slippery in the wet, useless in the snow. Great fun for spinning wheels in a Vanagon!!! The Vredesteins are noisier, but far superior in all conditions. Replaced them last summer with Michelins because I couldn't find the Vredesteins and the front left tire failed due to dry rot on an interstate ramp (14 years old). The Michelins are OK - quieter, "harder" - they feel like truck tires, but I prefer the Vredesteins for better performance in ALL conditions.
