Ms P,

The best fix is to have the boss for the plug cleaned out and examined for boss thread damage. If it is the plug, no problem...get a new one. If threads in the boss are stripped or buggers, have it tapped, and a helicoil installed, so the standard size plug will still fit. Use a new plug to go with new threads of the helicoil. And make sure some flea brain in "Freddy's Fast Oil Change" doesn't over torque the plug!!!!

Any GOOD shop should be able to do the helicoil for you.

Wouldn't try this myself, takes a certain degree of skill and dexterity.
