Buses on the Lake June 29th thru July 1st

If you are coming please let me know :)

The NC Local Bus Club will be gathering at Jordan Lake for its first unofficial camp out. The lake is located on US Highway 64 nine miles east of Pittsboro, NC and about 10 miles west of Cary, NC. Jordan lake is really a beautiful. In fact it is one of the few places you can see bald eagles soaring above head.

We will be camping in Loop C of the Crosswinds Campground at the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. place. The C loop is on the water and offers sites with hookups for $17 per nite and without hookups for $12 per nite. Many of the sites are duplex sites and will accommodate two buses. Since we cannot reserve sites the strategy will be to grab all the duplex sites and than allow other buses to camp with us as they arrive so we can all stick together.

Details on the campground including a spiffy .pdf map of the campground and loops is available at http://www.ils.unc.edu/parkproject/jordcrc.html

This is an informal event and there are no plans for group meals or door prizes. If you want to put something togerther please feel free to. We will however have a least one small sailboat as well as a catamaran that are owned by local bus club members. They will most likely be offering to take folks out if they want to go. Swimming and fishing in accordance with local policy are also available.

Park gates close at 8:00 PM and reopen at sun-up.

Crosswinds is a State Recreation area so please familiarize yourself with the rules when you arrive :)

DO NOT CALL THE CAMPGROUND AND ASK FOR INFO ON THE VW BUS CAMP OUT!!!!!! This in not a SRA sanctioned event. We are just exercising our right to gather :)

See you there Chris Greensboro, NC NC local bus club fullmoonbusclub too :) 1972 camper 1967 bus
