Nope, Make sure the tank is empty (or as near as you can) first cos petrol is heavy.

Remove the filler tube from the tank - the hardest bit as it was all rusty on mine - as I was replacing the tank I just carefully hacksawed it - DON'T use an angle grinder with all that fuel vapour about !!!!

Support the tank underneath with a trolley jack and a plank of wood to spread the load. Undo the two M8 screws. Lower the jack slowly and undo the hoses as they become exposed (you'll see what I mean). Remove the tank. I also removed the expansion tanks from under the wheels and cleaned then up, blew them through to check for blockages etc... I went to my local parts store and bought a couple of packs of proper hose and the proper clips for refitting everything - take the old stuff along to ccompare sizes. I swopped over the fuel sender etc... to the new tank and reversed fitting. I kept the hoses for the expansion tanks long and trimmed them back when the tank was in place. Incidentally I found that the P.O. had used garden hosepipe instead of proper petrol pipe for things like the balance pipe - eeek! All in all cost me about £200 to replace the tank, that included all seals, tubes, new (plastic) filler nozzle - won't ever rust :-) - and now I can cram as much juice into the baby as I can get in without any leaks :-)))

Phil T25 - No fuel leaks, No Water Leaks :-) - 1600cc Aircooled
