Subject: Fw: Tether Anchors for 1985 VW Vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"

| I've searched the archives and got no hits. Has anyone retrofitted a | 1985 or 1986 VW Van with tether anchors (for FF tethers) for a carseat? | The anchor is not needed for RF'ing carseats, but when it is turned FF, | it will be needed.

For my daughter's front facing child seat, I installed the child seat anchor right close to the latch for the rear hatch on our '87 Westy. The tether strap then runs the full length of the rear sleeping area, down to the anchor. It didn't interfere in any way with the closing of the hatch. After the anchor was no longer needed, I replaced the anchor with a bolt and rubber washer to keep out moisture.
