The trip was a total of 441.4 miles. The van was filled before I left and also filled when I got back at the same station. It was also filled at the Big Meadows campground before the trip back. Total gas used was 20.0 gallons, for a combined average of 22.1 mpg. The odometer reading is very close because I followed my brother down and we checked his mileage versus mine. (We were within 5 miles on the trip down.) He was driving a new Toyota 4Runner, so I would guess his mileage is pretty accurate. The 23.6 mpg on the way back was surprising, because this included a 10 minute traffic back up where I did not shut off the motor. The 23.6 was almost 2 mpg better than last year's run. Besides the timing and tune-up parts, I am running the Kirkland tires. The 50 psig tire pressures could only help. I was running Michelin P-tires before, which maxxed out at 35 psig.

Jay
