I have a different practice than HK, I mostly defend manufacturers of industrial products and litigate trademark and trade secret disputes. However, I echo his sadness. I do my damnedest for my clients, within an ethical code (the law's) which is pretty good and within my own conscience, which is pretty strict. I work hard to keep up with the ever evolving law, and the ever-changing rules of practice. I bill fairly. I don't lie. I know alot of lawyers who do the same. I have run across a few who don't. I hope that when Frank needs a lawyer, that he runs across someone like me or HK and more importantly that the lawyer on the other side is like us also. This constant desire to tear down is troubling because it is symptomatic of putting people in boxes: boxes of their professions, creeds, colors or whatever. So for what its worth I am proud to be a lawyer and of most of the members of my profession that I have dealt with over the years. I would hope to be judged on my own merit, and they on theirs.

Okay, I'll shut up now. Anyone have any recommendations on tires, or timing ;^)

It was once said: "An evil lawyer is the one your up against, a Great lawyer is the one sitting next to you" I've met both. I'm glad that I'm simply part of the evil, mind-numbing, money-grubbing corporate environment and not some other .. hmm.. nevermind.

Wishing I had Friday access to the list.. Chris Smith
