As soon as I get my TiiCo Kit installed, I will be taking it to a VW performance shop (Velocity Sport Tuning) that is local to me. They will query the ECU and check with their suppliers (Neuspeed and Garrett are the two big ones that come to mind) to see if they have compatible chips. I believe most 4 cyl VWs from '93 up (with the POSSIBLE exception of the turbos) use the Motronic FI. The only difference would be the version (5.x for the US VWs and 9.0 for the TiiCo). Velocity also has the ability to, once the stock chip has been queried, to send that info directly to Garrett. I have been told that Garrett is very accommodating when it comes to tweeking chips. If Garrett has one that is close (I.E. for, say, a 98 Jetta) they can use the info from the stock TiiCo chip and compare it to the stock US and their own Hi-Perf chips and they should be able to come up with something that will get us some gains. Please Note... This is all speculation at this point. I will get things confirmed (or denied) once I get my conversion in and get it over to Velocity. Sean B.
