Hi volks, I've got an auto trans with the cast iron bell-housing. To make my new 2.0L I4 engine fit, I've got to convert one of the 4 holes that mounts the trans to the block to a from a tapped hole to a thru hole since the new block has a stud in that location. I'm pretty sure I could just drill the threads out and the remaining 1/8 inch of material to make the hole, but I think I'll also have to cut a small hole for the nut which will attach to the stud. Am I crazy to do this myself? Will a machine shop do this work with the entire trans together? Thanks -jeff |
