Even at the Diesel mounting angle you will have to make a modification to the engine cover. Also, you won't be happy with the performance of the 16V engine as they make their power above 4400 RPM - not the best for the Vanagon. A 2.0L 8V will be a better driving experience. Hey Listies, Has any body out there installed a 2.0 16V engine in their van using the diesel type mounting system? Did it protrude above the engine lid opening ,by how far? I have a Passat wreck availible to me and I already own the diesel mounting stuff so this seems like it could be fun. If any one has done this conversion ,I'd love to hear from you.
