Charles gave me inspiration to make my antenna work with some modifying.
The nut would not screw on, the bottom part of the antenna with the barb on
it needed ground down. I don;t have a grinder so I went to Home Depot to get
a hacksaw. I left the new antenna in  because I didn't want rain to get in
the whole. The string on the cord is still hanging out the ashtray. So on my
way back the wind works the base of the antenna that was just sitting on
there, up the antenna.
As I look out of the corner of my eye it reaches the top of the antenna and
wisps off out into the highway air. Is there another antenna that others
have used and installed with no hang ups?
