Subject: gas maleage dropped to 10.1
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I just took my '84 on a trip and the gas mileage has dropped to 10.1. I have previously gotten around 18 cruising on the highway. My digitool is lent to a friend, so I can't look at anything. My first suspicion is the temp 2 sensor keeping the system in closed loop. Other symptoms are difficult starting unless I hold the pedal to the floor (while warm). Cold start is fine. Here's the clincher. It was just in the shop having a rebuilt auto tranny installed. The economy problems began after I got the van back. I've looked over all the vac. lines and fuel hoses, and looked for fuel leaks. Also made sure the O2 sensor was connected. Van still drives fine, and power seems as usual. Anybody got any ideas until I can get my digitool back? Thanks, everybody Steve Sandlin http://www.steveslockshop.com '84 Wolfsburg Westy '79 Transporter '00 New Beetle _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
