If it doesn't leak, it probably won't unless someone forgets the washer, or overtightens it once [It doesn't take a bunch of torque, I use a grip on the wrench next to the plug and just tug once, if it leaks a bit I don't care and I've never had one fall out].

You really shouldn't need a spare plug.
