Will- Don't know if this is what happened to you but for two years in a row when we drove from MA to FL in the Spring, we had almost the same thing happen. We would get as far as a town in Alabama (same town, both times) and when pulling up to a light we would stall out and not be able to restart our Westy which is an '85 automatic. Both times it was about 92 or 92 degrees and both times we had gassed up at the same station about an hour before, just off the interstate. We tried dry gas, maybe it helped, maybe not but after the engine had cooled for about 45 minutes it would start right up. We were told that you can't have a vapor lock in a fuel injected system because it was under pressure all the time but I don't agree. It felt exactly like what our '72 air cooled would do except that would run on very roughly for a while before it quit all together. Here is the conclusions we have come to.

1. Don't ever buy gas at any station with a hand painted sign that says "Clem's Service"! 2. Buy only high test well known brands 3. Keep a spare fuel filter with you 4. Don't let your tank get too low before filling 5. It goes without saying, do a tune-up before setting out on the next trip

Enjoy the air conditioning, you'll make it home.

Good luck
