Subject: more dryer stuff

I installed all of my new AC hoses this morning, then took the van to a place that specializes in AC to get it vacuumed and recharged, and was turned away! The manager won't let them touch VWs!!! Says there are too many problems with them.

Anyway, went to my friendly neighborhood Penske (K-Mart) and they said that even though my dryer was installed only 6 weeks ago, that I need a new one because the system was opened. Is this true? If so, do they have to install it there so they can put a vacuum on it right away, or can I install it at home?

Thanks,

deb
