Tom,

What program are you using for 1551/2 emulation? I assume 1551/2 is ODB-II? I needed a scan tool for my 96 Passat and recently got an ODB-II scan program and interface from www.obd-2.com that runs on a PC laptop and can interface with any ODB-II ECU (any US car after 96 must be ODB-II compatible). Works quite well , but naturally has no VW-specific customization, so one would need to hand-enter the codes to set up for the specific engine config., which you apparently need to do when installing a new ECU
