First off, don't jinx yourself. Myself, while I have no direct experience with it in a Vanagon or other VW, I have used Stop Leak, and it worked great. That was putting it directly in to a radiator though, where the leak was. A while ago, I had a leak in my Jetta's radiator, and I asked a very well reputed shop about Stop Leak. I was told that this would be a very bad idea, as the radiator has no opening to put it in, and it would clog the hoses, and very soon cause even more problems than just a leak. I would think the Vanagon is the same way. You would have to put it in the back, so to me (Again, I have no direct experience, so I may be wrong) that would cause even more problems, than just replacing the leaking part. Just my 1/2 a penny thought for the day.
