It is very easy to remove it, grease it, and put it back. Takes maybe 1/2 hour. It doesn't go all the way to the back. It transfers at the tranny. Don't neglect this. I once had the accelerator cably for my '81 AUTO Westy break at 10PM on a Saturday night just outside Jackson, Miss. Autos take a different cable. If you think it is hard finding one for a manual, I am here to say that's nothing! I rigged it with a piece of electrical wire from a truck stop, and we finally found one in Tampa the next day. Top speed with electrical wire as the accelerator cable was 40 MPH or so, and it kept stretching, making necessary frequent stops to adjust (copper stretches more than steel). I carry a spare now. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gavin Flanagan" <sfsoulsurfer@MINDSPRING.COM> > > Any advice on how to grease the accelerator cable? |
