I converted my syncro to a subie engine and many mornings it won't start, no click no nuthin. The fuel pump primes each time I turn the key but not a click from the starter. After keeping the key turned for quite awhile I'll notice that the solenoid is quite warm, so I guess juice is getting as far as the solenoid. Why do you think it isn't making the jump to the starter? Usually after about 5 minutes of turning the key over and over and jiggling this wire and that it starts! I've also noted that during the day there will sometimes be a delay between the time I turn the key and ignition. This is the stock VW starter. Any ideas?
