Gee, is my cheapie Sterilite drawer box with white top not gonna pass
inspection? I use a Spillmaster in front of it(and behind the 4 speed
handle) to hold all the junk and the Sterilite has a cutout in front ofthe
drawer facing so I can hide the CD changer in there and access the front for
switching magazines(Sony 10 disc jobbies). Both items bout at Target for
under $15. A well placed rectangular hole towards the back allows me to
store 4 more magizines for a grand total of 50 CD's to choose from) and they
stay out of the sun and thieving eyes. A 1/2" sheet of dense, closed cell
neoprene foam covers the hole and fits nicely inside the recess of the top
of the Sterilite box. Space for the right fist on the hand brake is a
little cramped, but the box moves around a bit making that a non-issue.
Way easy to step over and the laptop sits on top nicely without sliding
around(neoprene is the hi friction surface type, not the wetsuit style
material) while I'm still programming the Haltech FI system. Thought of
adding some self stick black velcro on the dash abvove the in-dash unit to
make a veil for thieves to guess what's underneath. Parking in hi-risk
neighborhoods is always preceeded by throwing a towl or wadded up T-shirt on
the dash to cover the goods. Those that over-Armorall their dashes can sort
of slip a corner of the clothing under the ashtray lid so it doesn't slide
off too easily.
