Tony, You can buy them halogen bulbs cheaper than $13.00 at Trak, or Pep boys or any other discount FLAPS. I got them at NAPA just because I was there, and wanted to get this experiment over with.

I felt that the smaller halogen bulbs, would be farther away from the plastic, and less likley to melt the housing.

It has proven to be OK, thus far.

I think the halogens are more than 50 watts.
