Counted 6, all Westies, near the park and plaza. 3 were aircooled and 3 were later model rectangular headlight (one very nice met. gray w/Paulchen rack, CO plate, near the entrance). Taos is the self proclaimed "Solar Capital of the World" with a perfect climate for living off the grid utilizing photovoltaics, wind generators, wastewater reclamation systems, passive solar building techniques, and well, you name it, it was probably here at the solar exhibit. The solar park adjacent to the music fest was of course built using recyclable materials and had composting toilets. One guy in a 86 Jetta TD came down from CO to show how to convert to bio-diesel although he was running on straiight reclaimed veggie oil. He used a separate fuel tank in the trunk that was pre-heated with hot engine coolant running through 10' of copper tube in the tank. It doesn't leave much room in the trunk for a guy with a family though. The next day at the Taos Psychic Fair I spotted two bay window Westies, no Vanagons. Took my Purple-Plate-Using--Tesla-Technolgy in to find out why it didn't cure my ills or increase my mileage. No answers of course but it looks cool which is why I pack it around. Got a free series of treatments for my Parkinsons with a low-voltage/high-frequency device that was supposed to remove harmful parasites and toxic metals from my blood but haven't noticed anything yet. I enjoy the flutes, drums and general good vibes of the seekers; it's the ones who find the Truth I tend to avoid. Ken Hunter 82 Westy 1.9D 84 Jetta 1.5D |
