You don't really describe what you mean by "sticky accelerator", so just in case this might help, or in case the list members might have suggestions for me, here goes: I have a sticky feeling Acc. pedal, but it just sticks after sitting for a few hours, overnight for example. The "stickiness" is at the very start of the pedal travel and is generaly gone after a press or two of the pedal. I suspect worn throttle bushings? or misplaced throttle "butterfly" sticking in the throttle body? My theory: as soon as it opens a little, it moves freely as the "butterfly" no longer rubs up against the walls and it only settles down to stick to the walls again when the engine cools with the resulting thermal contraction and all. Fix? Beyond replacing the whole thing? Dunno. Suggestions out there? JGS 84 1.9L Westfalia Bleu Schtroumpf |
