I have an 84 gl, gas engine vehicle, I had a sticky valve which I've quieted somewhat with marvel mystery oil, seems to be the only additive that keeps it from stickin. But that's not the problem (i don't think anyway). When warm, as I come to a stop, the engine seems to idle too low, causing a flickering (sometimes on full) oil light. A light step on the gas stops the flickering, but I am wondering it there is something internal causing the light... I have thought about turning the idle up slightly, but am unsure if that is a wise 'solution' to the problem... Oil is fine, about a 1/4 inch below the top notch on the stick, and changed religiously every 2 months (a little excessive, but I love my van) I'm runnin 10w30 at the moment, 3 quarts of oil, 1 pint marvel. I'm just wondering if the idle down at stop is a symptom of something deeper. is it safe to ignore this flickering light, and turn the idle up a bit??? Play- |
