I didn't see a response to your query so...my answer would be your dribble situation is not normal. My sink water pressure--or maybe more correctly volume-- at the faucet rivals any fire hose anywhere. So provided your tea pot is less than 15 gallons, I think 5 minutes is unusually long for a fill up.

The opening in the facuet is small so it might take a minute or two at the most to fill the sink. But The water sprays out at quite a clip in my westy. Sounds like you have probelm.
