Subject: Westfalia water tank fitting -- impossible to find?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Happy almost 4th of July everybody!

I need help from the vastness of the vanagon support group.

Here's the deal. A while back I was pulling out the deceased pump in the camper's water tank and found that the oh-so-wise and wonderous previous owner had filled the tank at some point with bleach. Sure it blasted the funky stuff growin' in there, but it also rotted all the plastics.

So I'm hunting around now for an elbow fitting that's at the top of the water tank. There's barbs at both ends, but one side has what the experts call a "bulkhead" fitting.

Not so easy to find! I've checked all the obvious sources (Parts guy at the dealer, Home Depot, Many RV shops and suppliers, our die-hard venders, and plumbing specialty shops), but all of them scratch their heads.

Any of you folks go through this?

What did you do? (short of litigation against the PO)

Anybody got one of these in the garage?

Go Fish?

Thanks in advance, RA
