Phaedra, et al

I've done something I consider worse: I put a treasured *surfboard* (hand-shaped, from Australia) on top of my Westy while unlocking the sliding door (I was, as usual,*exhausted and shivering*), then forgot it... and drove off... then I heard it bounce off as the wind caught it. Recovered and repaired it, non-lethal damage but it shows (to remind me). Worse (I can't believe this), I did this about 5 years previous, less damage, but you'd think I'd learn.

Good stories.

I found out that my Westy pop top can easily withstand a 55mph wind--don't ask how I know. Luckily I didn't harm anything, as I was on the first week of a summer-long trip to Alaska, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, an epic adventure I call Fifteen Thousand Miles: A Summer in Alaksa.
