rod, we got very, very lucky. later on the day our downpayment arrived and was deposited by eddie of armstrong cars, he got a call from a chap in las vegas who was interested in paying as much as $9K for the same van, sight unseen. very, very lucky.

as for fun, we've just done our first long-distance cruise in it, and it behaved admirably. colder than we expected at night, ran faster than i expected on the highway (up and down hills, etc.), but did the vanagon syndrome thing after about four hours of 60-70mph driving in hot weather. i have to check other things, but may do the capacitor or the harness fix.

my experience with mcm-c so far has been great. put the order in thursday morning by credit card and the sheets arrived friday afternoon. heavy suckers. backed with brown paper, they're grey and stickybacked. i compared them in thickness and in dB reduction with other sheets, according to spec, and it seems to be the same stuff as BQuiet and Dynamat, just very, very generic. i will report back after i get the stuff in.

today i am going to deal with the rust on the floor, then tonight i'll start cutting pieces to fit. i am also going to change my tranny oil, front diff oil, and motor oil. should be fun!
