This was the first job I did on my Westy and it turned out being easier than I thought. Most important tool is a good rubber mallet. Once you get started it goes in pretty easy. Turning the corners is the hard part. When doing the luggage rack, take the opportunity to remove it completely and clean all the garbage under it. Mine was loaded with crud that looked like mulch. Clean the roof and cover the drainage holes with little screens using a hot glue gun. This will keep most of the crud from getting back under there again. Gerry Royston '87 Westy |
