I've used these CB antenna adapters, and have had really poor results. Causes a signal drop for your AM/FM, and allows a new source of noise into the loop. My suggestion: get one of the glass-mounted CB antennas (I think JC Witless sells 'em too) and use that instead. Easy install, route the cable carefully or use a wire loom cover. Makes for a more complete and finished look. I have a version of this antenna (it's a little more substantial) for a 2 meter HAM transceiver I have in my 82 Westy. It's not the most ideal solution as there is some signal loss from where it goes through the glass, but short of drilling in places I don't want to, it's the best alternative. Drilling through the roof of your Westy is to be avoided at all costs. Doesn't make for a good ground plane (read zero), and it'll introduce a source of leakage and weakness. Good luck!
