Hey folks, I've been fixing all the minor seam rust on my westy this summer, and my next project is the seam on the drivers side above the propane tank. I've got all the paint, old sealer, and rust removed, and I've found there is some sections of the seam that are rusted right through, from the inside out. First of all, How is water getting in there? Secondly, how can I access the back of that seem? Is it possible? Do I have to remove the entire cabinet/stove/fridge unit? I have a feeling If I just seal it and paint it up it won't last long, and I'd like to get some rust converter and sealer in there. Any help is muchly appreciated. thanks, greg (nearly rust free) 82 Vanagon Westfalia. |
