not to beat an almost dead thread, but most AAA offices (well, at least most CSAA offices) can make a plastic "credit card" door key that will work on Vanagon locks. It will wear out quickly and could jam ignition locks, so they recommend that it only be used for emergency door opening.

with the new switch-blade style keys that Eurovans have - that would not work...
