Subject: Self-healing hoses?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

While cruising into new mexico, my 85 westy overheated twice and when I stopped the first time, I noticed coolant coming from the rear of the bottom of the sliding door. I made it to my destination by topping off the coolant and decided to fix the problem when I got back from my trip (my friend drove). So my westy sat parked for 3 weeks and when I came back to find the leak, I can't get it to leak. I drove around for awhile hoping it needed to get really hot (it got to the middle of the led) but it still didn't leak. The hoses to the underseat heater -which I suspect where it is coming from leaking from such a wierd place -look fine. Would it be possible that a leak would only leak if it was hot for a really really long time? Or was my westy just playing games with me? I'm confused. Thanks! Alan
