Cos if you had serviced the radiator, you wouldn't be in this situation?? There was just a discussion on this very thing last week. If the system is working properly, no asist is needed. If it isn't working properly, an assist is just a band-aid and you're gonna have problems anyway. The heater trick will get you home (assuming you're not a whole country away) though.
