Aha! So that's how my extra chair is supposed to be fastened down! I bought my 85 Westy GL last year and it came with the extra captains chair (looks like it had never been used). One of the POs laid down a new piece of carpeting and hid those tracks from view. The carpet is actually stained and kind of crappy so I might have to rip it out and see if I can put the extra chair back in...

Yet another morsel of knowledge gained from this great list!
