Well...think about what's common about the coolant circulation path in this case. Isn't it true that coolant circulation to both of these is NOT controlled by the thermostat because they share the coolant path with the engine (ie on CLOSED side of the thermostat)?

I'll bet the reservoir cap blew at least ONCE instead of these...

Or perhaps I'm all wet...
