Subject:      The Saga of the Cross Country Jumpseat Bracket

Today as I prepared to have a removable jumpseat ready for pick-up by an
out-of-town listee's brother, I noticed that the old mailing tube that the
rear bracket came in was still here. Perfect transport vessel I thought.

As I cleaned up the tube for mailing, I proceeded to take off the old mailing
label. The first layer came off.

Gary M. from Massachusetts shipped it to me. Under that label:

Les Paulsen from Utah shipped it to Gary. Under that label:

Joel Cort from New York shipped it to Les.

When I received this rear bracket, I intended on installing it in my 87 GL.
During the ensuing months, I found a matched set which I decided to use
instead. I then sold the bracket in question along with a jumpseat to my
friend Jero in Daly City. Jero hung on to the set-up until he needed some
quick cash to replace his blown heads. He asked me to sell it for him. I
posted it on the list. Sure enough, I sell it.

The bracket along with the seat is on it's way to Santa Barbara, California.
I wonder if Brent will actually end up installing this bracket. I am shipping
it off in the same mailing tube that it came in from New York.

The way I see it, the people making a killing on this bracket is the post
office. There's about $30-$40 worth of shipping stamps on the tube. It's been
from one end of the country to the other.

Makes you wonder what the story of the seat is. BTW, I bought a floor mount
from Joel. I'll bet anything it is a match to that rear bracket.
