I have seen a Merc 300TD with 350000km on the origional motor running on a mix of diesel and LPG. Apparently the cleaner burn cleans up the emissions to return it to acceptable levels. I was told it is a common conversion on tired trucks in europe. Anyone out there run a Wasserboxer on LPG? I have had several vehicles running on switchable petrol/LPG, greatly reducing running costs. (LPG is half price). However several converters I spoke to mentioned valve burning problems with VW, (LPG burns hoter than petrol, and is missing the lubricants) which makes the savings redundant.

Take care + have fun, Ian
