Ok, lets see if I can explain... the diesel engine protection plate replaces the "noise capsule". The plans and maunufacturing notes for the plate are also in the "Journeys Under Difficult Conditions " manual. The protection plate mounts (sketch 14, sheet 1) at the rear to the stock muffler heat shield (the one that often rattles) by means of metal straps (plans on sketch 13, sheet 3). The heat shield must be slightly reworked as shown. The protection plate is attached at right hand side at the engine carrier rubber mount by a special bracket (sketch 13, sheet 2) and at the front to the transission mount. Side spash protection is provided by the reworking of wasserboxer side spash plates (sheet metal), as shown.
