I sent the last posting in error before I was finished. Anyway this is what I have found over the years. I have used nothing but Marvel in all my air tools, and if in fact the oil contained just high detergents, or solvents with little oil content they most certainly have burned up long ago. Also I fog my boat with Marvel at the end of every season ( besides using it in the oil) to lubricate and protect the exposed surfaces of the cylinders from corrosion. Now if this particular oil was loaded full of solvents, the coating induced during fogging would soon evaporate, leaving the cylinder walls, and valves exposed to possible corrosion, which hasn't ever happened. My 74 Carver 28' Cruiser had 3000 hours on it prior to me trading it in in 1988. The timing chain was getting sloppy, and I decided to change it prior to trading it off. When I took the engine apart, it had zero sludge, and was clean as the day it was assembled. My BMW has 227,000 miles on it uses zero oil, and I have always dumped a quart, in it since new. Under the bonnet looks as new. I have been using this "miracle in a can", since the 60's and have always been pleased with it's performance. I am a believer. Amen. ______________ |[ ] [ ] [ ]\ | | | | ~~~ ~||-(())----(())-| Terry-- 74 Campmobile- (Clementine) 85 GL- (Delilah) 86 BMW 325 ES- (Eva) |
