Hi all, Firstly, thanks to everyone for their great contributions. I really appreciate everyone's advice and suggestions. Here's a bit of followup information: 1. Regarding the Agilis 61, they are definitely not available today except for local tire people that may have some left over. Tire Rack is out of stock as is Michelin. Michelin expects some next week and more during the first two weeks of August. Their load index is good (1709 lbs per tire) but I'm not ready to commit because they are noticeably narrower than the stock 205/70 original tires. 2. The only two sizes that VW recommends which I couldn't find (215/65 14 and 225/65 14) are supposed to be available from Continental in Canada. WIll call there on Monday. 3. A third option is the Bridgestone 603. It's a light truck tire with a load rating of 1720 pounds and comes as a 195/75 14. A bit wider than the Agilis and good load rating. My local tire shop is getting one in on Monday for us to look at. I apologize for dragging this on but I'm hoping this information will be useful to at least a few others on the list.
