I got a good used rack outright at $125. The seal kit was $67. I heard that BD was selling rebuilt racks at $179 exchange plus shipping. I think I made the right decision. It took me 2 hours of unskilled labor to change the rack. It was pretty easy because the used rack came with all the tierods intact. I didn't even have to jack up the van to do it. After installation, I just moved the steering wheel after everything centered. probably should have gotten and alignment but the shadetree must have worked fine. It's been there for 2 years now. The rack was recently rebuilt by ZF as evidenced by sticker on it. If you can't find an alternative, I know where you can get a good used rack in SF.
