Dear list gurus [and others, like BenT, semi gurus] I had reported that my van started missing under load on a trip to Southern California last week. then progressed to missing under less and less load, now misses all the time. I tried a new fuel filter [the old one was dirty] and a new coil [the old one was dirty, don't know how well it worked], no help. My brother suggested bad plug wires. I didn't think they'd go bad in that fashion but I went out tonight and looked at the engine running in the dark. Sure enough small sparks where the driver side plug wire and coil wire go by the A/C compressor. Question: What plug wires should I get, and where best to get them? I'm off to operate a tri sport camp at Tahoe August 4 so I need them at least a couple of days before then [anyone want to come to Tahoe to run, bike, or swim, or my personal favorite, nap. List members given a special discount: List plus 10%]. Thanks for listening. Mike |
